We Believe in Possibilities

WHO WE ARE

Cowichan United Way traces its roots back to 1969 and the old Red Feather Appeal. The current Cowichan United Way was formally incorporated as a society on September 15, 1976. This society, registered with Revenue Canada as a charitable and non-profit organization has the capacity to issue receipts for income tax purposes for donations made to Cowichan United Way. It operates under the guidelines of the Society Act of B.C., the Income Tax Act of Canada and its own constitution and bylaws.

Today, Cowichan United Way supports 17 local agencies in the Cowichan Region. These agencies provide over 90 programs and services in our region which stretches south from Saltair to the top of the Malahat and west from Thetis and Kuper Islands to Maple Bay and then through to Nitinat.

Of the 82,000 people living in Cowichan, 30,000 access a United Way funded agency each year for support with health, social or family services.

On these pages, you will find information about our organization, the agencies we fund, and how you can support the work we do. Scroll to the bottom of each page to check for a link to other information.

Support the Cowichan Region through United Way. Together, we create, for those in need, the possibility of a new beginning. Cowichan United Way - A Neighbour You Can Count On!
